PRIVACY & TERMS

The short, plain version.

Privacy.

This site has no analytics service. There are no third-party tracking pixels. The only logs kept of your visit are the standard request logs that Cloudflare keeps for every site on their network — IP address, timestamp, requested URL — and those expire on Cloudflare's normal retention schedule. Nothing about your visit is sent to a third party.

When the beta signup form opens, it will post to Formspree, which forwards submissions to my email and does not retain them in a queryable database that I have access to. Your email address is used only to reply to your beta request and (eventually) to send you your beta invitation. I do not run a newsletter. I will not add you to a mailing list. I will not share your email with anyone.

The product itself, Crystal Clear Orbs, runs locally on your Windows machine. It does not phone home, does not collect telemetry, does not send any data over the network in v0.6-dev. The eventual paid v1.0 release will include an offline license check that pings my license server roughly once a week to confirm your license is still active — at that point this section will be updated to describe exactly what that check sends. For closed beta, there is no network activity from the product at all.

Terms.

By requesting access to the closed beta, you understand you're asking for pre-release software, which means: it may have bugs, it may behave unexpectedly on your specific hardware, and it may eat its own runtime files when something goes wrong. I recommend you don't rely on it for anything mission-critical during the beta. If something breaks, the diagnostic bundle in the Hub captures the relevant logs and you can email them to me.

The closed beta is free. The paid v1.0 launch (months out) will introduce a one-time license fee. Beta participants will get clarity on pricing and any beta-specific discount well before the v1.0 release. Nothing about the beta enrollment commits you to purchasing v1.0.

A real EULA, written by a real lawyer, will ship with v1.0. For closed beta the above is the agreement.
